Health Work Career Friends Signpost Showing Life And Lifestyle BalanceI was reading a blog post written by a friend of mine Tony Shepherd the other day and it really got me thinking. probably because I can resound with it so well.  (You can read it here),

I bet most of us have subscribed to the notion at some time during our online career that we should be looking at eventually making millions of dollars online and I’d guess that is what many of us have as some sort of end point goal.

But I want to challenge the notion that you should or want to make millions from your online ventures and simply ask you do you really need to make millions, or would a lower amount as your end goal be enough!

I’m not going to pretend I’ve made millions from my online business because I haven’t though I’m pleased to report I have made many tens of thousands of dollars which I’m very happy about.

I’m not even sure what I’d do with millions of dollars anyway, I don’t particularly want a huge imposing house (think of the cleaning), and I’m quite happy with the new Nissan Note car I bought recently, it took me ages to change my old 8 year old Focus, (I loved that old Focus)!

I don’t particularly buy designer clothes because I’m happy just slumming about in old joggers and tees (My daughter despairs of my fashion sense)!!

The point I’m trying to make, is that is how I like my life, we have more than enough to keep us happy and we’re lucky enough to be able to help out family whenever they need us, if I started making millions of dollars, then I’d probably give much of it away anyway!

So how much is enough for you when working your online biz? Is your goal to make millions of bucks, or would you just be happy making a few thousand or even a few hundred a month to help you out with your finances. It’s an interesting question that I’d love you to sit and ask yourself before you commit yourself to the many hours a day needed to get yourself to the point where you reach huge goals especially if you have family, children etc. that your missing out on valuable time with.

BTW I’m not knocking aspirations of making millions of bucks a year from your online biz, I’m just wondering if the ultimate price for it is always worth paying…

Till next time…

      Hi Kim,

I think I was drawn into this course by the thought of making extra money. I did not really think about the amount.

Now having done this since February 2014 I know what I want. I would like to earn a couple of thousand each month. I think that would cover what I need and give me some security for my future. Of course when I do make my millions I am sure there will be lots of good causes to swallow it up.

      Thank you for your post
      Take care

      Hi Kim

A very good question indeed, in-fact not a good question but an excellent one! I believe in order reach the goal (your own answer) you need to ask this question of yourself in the first instance and make it the objective you strive for.

I really love the fact that you sound that you are in a great place with the life this career gives you, to me it sounds as though you have found true wealth and long may that continue Kim.

For me on a personal note, enough to allow me to work only this and give up my teaching job but I would also want to balance this out with spending more time with my family as that is my true wealth.

Thanks again for this post Kim as it has help me clarify this particular objective.
