If you are then good for you, but as usual I’m going to be a tad controversial and go against what a lot of people say out there, mainly because I just like being ornery.
There is a lot of claptrap being spouted from so called experts and there is one piece that really annoys me whenever I hear it..
And that’s the mantra that you have to be passionate about the niche you’re in, because it’s the biggest load of bull poo out there. You see it a lot in the forums. some newbie will ask for advice about where to get started in IM and you can always guarantee some twit will pontificate about ‘doing’ what you’re passionate about, it drives me crazy because they obviously heard it somewhere and they’re just spouting out rehashed garbage that has no truth whatsoever.
Guess what guys, you go where the money is, it’s not rocket science, you find a niche that’s profitable and you try and monetise it, it’s simple, and if you enjoy that particular niche, then thats a bonus for you, but for heavens sake don’t think that you have to enjoy the damn thing to make a success from it.
I’ve got a lot of niche products out there and one that I’m about to embark on is the subject of embarrassing body problems. I can sure as hell tell you now there is nothing I find remotely exciting or interesting about that particular niche except for the plan to make a great deal of money out of it, in fact I can’t think of anything more boring than thinking of genital warts or verrucas, but if I can make more than a few dollars with it then I’m sure as hell going to persevere with it, the thought of the money I’ll make from it will more than compensate for the fact I’m not remotely interested in why folks have terrible wind etc.
So look at specific niches that are profitable and if you enjoy them that’s great, but for heavens sake don’t get hung up about enjoying the subject, just think of the money you’ll hopefully make.
If you really can’t bear the thought of dealing with the niche yourself, then if you can afford it, outsource it to someone else. It’s what I’ve done with my embarrassing problems niche and it’s getting me there much quicker.

Well hello Kim, great advice as usual something I agree and I would add, rather than getting into a niche you are passionate about, just get a niche working.
Map the principles that allowed it to work and apply the marketing cliche, ‘rinse and repeat’

I would agree Igor
Hey Kim
You’re right, the bottom line is having something profitable – however, I honestly don’t think I could stick it out if it was something I didn’t really enjoy – although you are definitely helping someone solve a problem!
This is a different take on the issue, and I suppose if it quickly became profitable that might be motivation enough to keep at it.
Thanks for sharing your opinion on the matter!

Hi Rose
I hadn’t actually finished writing that post (blush), I’d put it on schedule then forgot about it, so have added some more as in mainly if its possible then outsource it.
Feisty Kim
I like it. I am going to use ‘Bullpoo’ as well, made us smile in this office.
To your success

lol I had to moderate my language on the wards, bullpoo was one of the more moderate ones I came up with!!!
Hi Kim, love this blog post! As someone who has not found my niche yet its very refreshing to hear that it’s ok not to feel passionate about all the niches’ you may follow. Going with something profitable is good advice, and I am positive that if my niche is profitable it will go along way to helping become passionate about it – maybe not if its genital warts though….
🙂
Hi Victoria, thanks for stopping by.
Lol genital warts, ugh
I guess I’m passionate about niche and thats the reason to work on it without any hassle.
Thanks
Hi Kim
Just love the “patter” which makes me smile but I know your serious.
I am sticking to JTs P2S programme and producing my first product in the IM niche ( title not quite sorted but it’s a simple start in generating traffic) although we are to concentrate on a profitable IM niche I have also found other niches outside of IM which I am tempted to start but at the same time don’t want to distract from the current job.
As you are in the nursing establishment you might be interested in a product called P-Bag, please let me know one way or the other but you may find it quite interesting.
Like the Newbie-Network, many thanks.
Best regards
Allan
