Video’s are big business.

While it’s tempting to create a video about how your business helps customers, it isn’t likely to get noticed much by viewers or Google. So if you want your video to appear on page 1 of the search results, it’s best to use an informational type of format.

For example, you can tell how to do something step by step, or give a list of tips on your particular topic.

Focus your video on the information it can provide to the viewer, rather than on using it to make your business look good.

For example, if you’ve got a gardening supply website, you might normally be tempted to show how many products you have in stock, how fast your shipping is, etc. Instead, think about creating videos on how best to winter plants, how to start seeds, how to deal with plant diseases, etc.

These are the videos that will tend to rank well both in YouTube and in Google, and get watched by viewers because they are searched for and they answer a need…

Of course you’ll still want to optimize your videos by using keywords, a good title etc, but try and make them a tad more informative and you should see your views rocket…
