I’ve been writing for the kindle platform for a couple of years now, and thoroughly enjoy it. In fact at one point I considered giving up IM as such to just concentrate on writing, but decided I didn’t want to limit my options too much. Unfortunately I now find I don’t have as much time as I’d like to devote to writing though Ids like to change that very soon if its possible.
Much of my writing career to date has been as a ghostwriter though I do have a number of books uploaded onto the kindle platform for myself. Ironically though several I’ve written as a ghostwriter with my writing partner Sharon have become best sellers for their owners, my own haven’t done nearly as well. Indeed I have a couple I haven’t even uploaded to the kindle platform yet. (though I’m in the process of doing so as I type).
So in other words, I’m good (very good) at the writing part, but stink at actually getting them uploaded and marketing them.
I was asked to review this book by Di Heuser (A very good friend of mine) a few months ago, but unfortunately despite thinking it was darn good I didn’t actually get round to promoting it at the time, so I thought I’d do that now and let folks know how pretty incredible it is.
Di’s book/manual is called ‘Publish and sell 100 copies of your kindle book with no money down’ and is one of the best books on how to use Kindle I’ve read. (And I’ve read a few).
This isn’t a manual on how to actually write a book as it’s presumed you’ve actually written it, but picks up the process of formatting it correctly and getting it online using the Kindle platform.
Just a few of the topics Di discusses includes
- Truth about Self-Publishing
- Self-Confidence and the Fear of Failure
- Understanding Amazon’s KDP Program
- Formatting Your Book
- Marketing your book (The bit I liked the best)
- How to set up an autoresponder so you can capture your readers etc.
There’s quite a lot more included but I thought that summed it up rather nicely.
A definite recommend from me

Hi Kim, very interesting post and the timing perfect for me since I have recently joined a cartel involved in creating and publishing eBooks for Kindle and I’m on a steep learning curve making your recommendation most welcome…
